#PhotoWalker overview

PhotoWalker is the general name of the system to link photos so as to reproduce virtual walk-through effects.

The system consists of:

- PhotoWalker: Sets links between photos and checks the edited linkage, consisting of PhotoLinker and PhotoBrowser.
- PhotoBrowser: Browses the photos edited with PhotoWalker. This is an independent software.

PhotoWalker is the software to create spatial link data, including some functions of PhotoBrowser to check edited data. PhotoBrowser is the software to replay and browse data created with PhotoWalker. In other words, PhotoWalker is home page building software and PhotoBrowser is a Web browser.

The link data created with PhotoWalker is saved in either of hpp file or hpml files. An hpp file contains all of created link data, and an hpml file contains link data per photo. Both hpp and hpml files are text files written in the XML format. When the data of a photo is displayed, PhotoWalker/PhotoBrowser refers the photo file together with the corresponding hpp or hpml file.

Keywords:

hpp file: hpp stands for "Hyper Photo Project".
hpml file: hpml stands for "Hyper Photo Markup Language".

Normal web data is described in the html ("Hyper Text Markup Language") format to represent a document with link data. PhotoWalker data is described in the hpml file ("Hyper Photo Markup Language") format to represent a photo with link data. An hpp file collects up multiple hpml files.
