I visited MIT Media Lab around end of this May. Weather was rather rainy, though I saw many interesting ongoing research projects there.

We decorated a lovable hina doll to celebrate the girls festival, March 3.
Spring is right around the corner.

The doll is designed by Mieko Arai. Really cute!

A bit late for uploading this picture, though, I made a Japanese flower arrangement in the new year.
Updated my publication list (with some of my recent papers uploaded in PDF format).

Happy New Year!
May the peace and happiness dominate the globe.

Do you know him?
He is "Allessi OTTO dental floss".
Design cute, function useful!
A pair of sandals for your porch.
You can wear them from either direction!

We visited Enoshima Aquarium last week.
Amazing view of school of sardines!
We recommend this aquarium with confidence.
On our way home, we casually saw a perfect rainbow in the sky. The weather was quite bad that day, but it was a pretty good holiday for us.

I made a decoration of Halloween.
Enjoy!

I visited ACM CHI2004 on the sidelines of other conference meetings. Most of the researches presented there were well-organized and informative. Common fault is that it is too big and the topics are diffused.
I visited UCSD and UC Berkeley this February.

happy new year 2004
may this year be full of happiness for you!

Had a great X'mas time. I decorated everywhere in our house, baked a christmas cake, had a nice dinner at the quality restaurant, and finally Santa Claus came to me!

We visited Setagaya Boro Ichi Market, one of the biggest antique flea markets in Tokyo. We saw many "sweet sweet" antique arts and crafts there. We drank amazake at the shop near the Setagaya station, and it tasted like red wine.

Black Cotton Swab by HEIWA MEDIC
You could easily see what you've gotten!
The only problem is that you would be ashamed to be seen it by someone else...
We went to a local/mini shrine festival at Aug, 30th.
The festival was so local and small, though, it was crowded with local and small kids.

I had a meeting at Keio SFC on a hot day in summer. Some buildings are under repairing. Yes, decade has past by...

I met Prof. D.A. Norman to discuss on his new book with other members on 2003.8.23. And that night I had a dinner with Julie Norman, Prof. Okamoto, Prof. Yasumura, and Shioura-san.
He also had a small lecture on his new book that day at Keio SFC.
The same topic has been reported here(in Japanese).
During my visit to Boston, I visited MIT Media Lab and there I got a chance to see many research demos related to HCI and ubiquitous computing area. I was impressed not only by the cool research prototypes, but by the air of the place where human resources constantly concentrates.
Bean-scattering ceremony celebrating the coming of spring. Japanese traditional festival that would be held the day before the calendric beginning of spring(Feb. 3rd). You throw beans to the ogre to get him out from the house and then greet the arrival of the holy one. The picture shown here is the ogre resting before being hit by the beans.

A little while ago but, I took two or three days' trip to Hong Kong in March with my wife. We were fascinated with the beautiful night view.

I visited Boston for a week in July. A little bit stormy weather, though, I had a good time eating Lobster and Clam Chowder(very traditional)!
I have just moved my web page to blog interface. The reason why I chose blog UI(movabletype) is that I can edit contents and skins from outside of this site. Not that I like this kind of tools with mundane user interface.
I would like to use this page as the remembrance of part of my life.:-)
