The goal of the education is the advancement of knowledge with activation
of thinking. It is important to make attempt for pursuit of
better method satisfying or helping the system of knowledge acquisition.
Especially, achieving the advancement of knowledge for many
students in learning physics is more difficult than other subjects,
because physics has high-level organic systems and deductive or inductive
methodology.
Therefore, the pursuit of better instruction methods is very
important in physics education.
``Structural Learning Method'' is one of the strong methods for resolving
this subject. This method consists of ``Developing teaching materials'',
``Classroom instruction'', and ``Measurement of achievement'' systematically
and cyclically.
``
ISM(Interpretive Structural Modeling)'' method
to determine hierarchical
networks of instructional units is the nucleus of
``Structural Learning Method''. Although this method is good at helping to
understand high-level organic systems and deductive or inductive methodology,
there is a problem that the software systems are required for peculiar
computer hardware and software which depends on the Operation System
(OS) of the computer.
In this paper, two studies are reported.
First, I implemented a
new computation system
for practice of
``Structural Learning Method''. The new system is implemented on
Internet World-Wide Web (WWW).
Former systems must required peculiar
computer and software depend on the OS of the computer.
The new system on Internet WWW can avoid the problem, and make easy
to draw and analyze cognitive diagrams.
Second, I performed the practice of ``Structural Learning Method''
on physics education using
the new system on Internet WWW
.
Concretely, I treated the practice on four units
in high school physics course.
The practices aimed to let students draw cognitive diagrams
and analyze their diagrams. From the results of the practices,
I got many suggestions for realizing teaching for individual student
adaptively and
instruction strategy for teachers.
Finally from the above results, I concluded that ``Structural Learning Method''
is very useful in physics education.
