N.C.W.A. FUNCTIONS

The NCWA is entrusted with the following powers and duties:

  • (1) to submit politices and master plans for the promotion of women's activities, roles and status to the Council of Ministers for approval;
  • (2) to recommend guidelines for implementing plans and policies to be in accordance with the National Economic and Social Development Plan, as well as to coordinate, monitor and assess the results of such implementations;
  • (3)to support and assist activities to promote women's development by govermental agencies, state organizations, state enterprises, as well as private organizations;
  • (4)to give comments and recommendations to the Prime minister on the needs for new legislation, or revision and amendment of existing legislation, to promote women's activities, roles and status;
  • (5)to report to the Council of Ministers on the situation of Thai women at least twice a year;
  • (6)to invite officials and employees of government agencies and state enterprises to gather from such agencies, offices or other concerned persons whatever information or documents which might prove useful for deliberations;
  • (7)to consdier other women-related matters as entrusted by the Council of Ministers.
