UNICEF Mekong HIV-AIDS Project Focussing on Children and Women

The regional UNICEF Mekong HIV/AIDS project (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam and Southern China) focuses on children and women.

We are trying to develop an appropriate care strategy for children and women affected by HIV/AIDS.

Our goal at the moment is to conduct a baseline assessment of organisations or individuals involved in HIV/AIDS care.

Currently, we are focusing upon Thailand, which is at a stage in the epidemic in which care for those affected by AIDS is becoming a priority.

We are particularly interested in organisations (both urban and rural) which focus more upon community- or home-based care for women and children affected by HIV/AIDS, rather than institutionalised care.

We are trying to compile a list of organisations involved in or interested in this subject.
