6月24日から27日、トルコのイスタンブールのトプカピ宮殿で「イラク世界民衆
法廷(WTI)」が開催されます。旧市街のアヤトリアやブルーモスクと並ぶ、
あのトプカピ宮殿です。

WTIは、2003年3月のイラク戦争開始直後から世界各地で始まった民衆法廷運
動です。これまでロンドン、コペンハーゲン、ブリュッセル、ニューヨーク、
ローマ、ソウル、広島、ムンバイなど各地で法廷を開いてきました。

また、日本で取り組んだイラク国際戦犯民衆法廷(ICTI)は「WTIのパー
トナー」です。各地の成果をイスタンブールに持ち寄って最終法廷を行います。

私たちICTIからは13名の代表が参加し、イスタンブール法廷の検事団に加
わります。6月17日には代表団結成をかねて、イラク戦争における戦争民営化問
題を考える集会を開催します。ぜひご参加ください。

陪審長は、作家のアルンダティ・ロイです。陪審員には世界社会フォーラム呼び
かけ人のフランソワ・ウタ(リューベン大学名誉教授)などが加わっています。

検事団は、リチャード・フォークとトルグット・タルハンリの2名。他に多数の
検事が参加しますが、経済学者のサミール・アミン、平和学者のヨハン・ガルト
ウング、女性世界法廷のコリーヌ・クマール、フェミニズム国際法のクリスチー
ヌ・チンキンなど有名人がずらり。

証人には、デニス・ハリディ、エマン・ハマスの名前も。
