うた
古典にはばんばん和歌が出てきて、「昔の人はすごいなあ、こんな風に日常会話に和歌を使えるなんて風流だなあ」と思っていた時期もあったのですが、よく考えれば当たり前です。
和歌を、幼児期の言葉の学習に使っていたのだから、当然自然に言えるようになるわけです。そして、自分で和歌を作るときもそれはかなりのアドバンテージになります。
今の人にもおなじようなものがないかな、と探したらありました。歌です。一時期の影響力はないカラオケですが、１００曲くらい歌えるという人も珍しくはないと思います。１曲あたりの文字数は、だいたい４００文字以上ですから、４００００文字を覚えている計算になります。勿論、歌詞を見ないと歌えない、という曲もあるだろうけれど、それでもリズムや音程を覚えているわけで、この量というのは、相当なものだと思います。
そして、僕の言葉のセンスも、歌詞に依存していることが多いです。今でも、かっこいいと思う言葉、の基礎になっているのは昔聞いた歌の歌詞なのです。それも、今は口に出すと少し恥ずかしい小室哲也の歌詞です。
誰が何と言おうと、あの歌詞たちがセンスの基になってしまっている以上、たとえば「だよね」という語尾や「それでもなぜかいつか」のような音合わせのためとしか思えない意味のない接続の仕方、「少し気分とりにってくる」という順序の違う日本語、「いつからか」のような曖昧、をかっこいいと思ってしまうのです。
