The Bahn Ruam Jai Project
This organisation has existed since 1984 to promote higher
quality of life for hilltribe people in the Chiang Mai area, and
particularly to meet children's educational needs. The present site
has a dormitory and classrooms for 41 hilltribe children as well as a
small organic farm. The project also supports over 200 other children
who live and go to school in their own villages. Other projects
include health and nutrition groups for hilltribe women, and advocacy
in negotiations between hilltribe villages and developers.
