Background

背景

The forum started in autumn 2003, when I first designed and taught a course about Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies Special arrangements were made by the World Bank Institute  for students’ access to their e-learning units on Corporate Social Responsibility.While in Tokyo, Mr. Petkoski, Director of the World Bank Institute’s Private Sector Development department and Mr Yasuo. Izumi, Sector Manager of Private and Financial Sector Development, Europe and Central Asia Region, of the World Bank paid an inaugural visit to the class. That was the launch of the CSR Speakers Forum at Keio University. Speakers from OISCA International Harvard Business School Japan Research Centre and the InterAmerican Development Bank quickly followed.

このフォーラムは私が環境情報学部でCSR（企業の社会的責任）についての講義を開始した、2003年の秋にスタートしました。世界銀行研究所のご協力により、企業の社会的責任についての遠隔学習用教材を使用させていただいています。世界銀行研究所のペトコスキ氏ならびに、世界銀行の泉康雄氏を、東京で初回のゲストとしてお迎えし、これが慶応大学CSRフォーラムの幕開けとなりました。続いてオイス、ハーバード・ビジネス・スクール日本リサーチ・センター、米州開発銀行等から講演者をお迎えしています。

The number of students interested in Corporate Social Responsibility has steadily increased, and currently I lecture on CSR at the Faculty of Law and Political Science, Faculty of Economics and Faculty of Commerce. To date, students have made on-site visits to NEC, and Toyota , and participating companies have included speakers from Shinnihon Ernst and Young , IBMJapan,Keidanren (Japan Business Federation)

企業の社会的責任について関心を持つ学生の数は確実に増えており、現在私は法学部、商学部、経済学部でCSRについて講義しています。これまでに学生が訪問した企業は日本電気、トヨタ自動車などです。また、新日本アーンストアンドヤング、日本アイビーエム、経団連といった企業・団体が講演者を派遣して下さっています。

このフォーラムについて

The idea is to develop a forum to invite representatives from business , government and civil society organizations to speak about their experiences with CSR. The Forum is open to students and other stakeholders groups and promises many opportunities for interaction and networking for attendees.  The focus of the Forum is on various aspects of CSR (social and environmental) as well as on regional CSR.

ビジネスや政治のフィールドでCSRを実践されている方々に、そのご経験についてお話ししていただき、討論を展開していきます。このフォーラムは学生や専門家の方々に向けて開かれており、参加者に対話と交流の機会を提供します。そしてCSRをとりまく様々な側面（社会的／環境的）、地域におけるCSRに焦点を当てていきます。

Objective

フォーラムのねらい

To increase awareness of CSR among students, as well as expand the thinking of CSR through the sharing of experiences and best practices with corporate and governmental peers;

CSRの重要性を認識し、企業や政府でCSRを実践している方々との意見交換を通じてその理解を深めることを目指します。

To demonstrate how CSR strategy and activities can mitigate sociopolitical risk nationally as well as internationally and can be a source of competitive advantage leading to success in FDI and corporate overseas expansion;

戦略としてのCSRが国内外の社会政治的リスクを緩和する可能性、そしてFDI（海外直接投資）と企業の海外進出を成功に導くポイントになる可能性を論証します。

To discuss examples of CSR around the world (Asia-Pacific, Africa, EU, Latin America and the Caribbean, North America).

世界各地（アジア太平洋地域、アフリカ、EU、南米及びカリブ諸国、北米）で実践されているCSRについて討論を行います。
